Master of Civil Engineering (Building and Infrastructure Rehabilitation, Applied Building Information Modelling)
In the German and international construction industry, the focus of building activity has switched increasingly from the design and construction of new structures to the maintainance, repair, strengthening and upgrade of existing structures. Consequently there is already and will be a strong demand for specialists with these skills. Following this long term trend the OTH Regensburg launched the consecutive postgraduate MEng in Civil Engineering „Building and Infrastructure Rehabilitation“ back in the summer semester of 2008. Since the summer semester of 2018 students are also able to focus on the „Digital Methods in Planning, Constructing and Operating Buildings / BIM (Building Information Modeling)“.
The course has a particular appeal for civil engineers who have just gained their first degree and specialist engineers with a comparable qualification who are already working in this field and who wish to broaden their knowledge with this additional study programme. If you are looking to consolidate your professional expertise as a Master of Engineering and demand to become a knowledgeable partner for clients and contractors, or if you see a future for yourself as an independent expert or inspector, then this course is suitable for you.
The Master course also teaches methods of project management as well as essential negotiation and presentation techniques, therefore generally enhancing the soft skills which are nowadays necessary for a successful career. Foreign language tuition is also offered and encouraged.
