Bachelor Business Studies (part-time)

Degree programme objectives
The degree programme is aimed at business administrators who already provide management support roles in a range of business fields and who – after an appropriate period of familiarisation – will themselves assume managerial tasks in business and administration or who wish to start their own businesses or become self-employed. As well as imparting the necessary specialist knowledge, the degree programme encourages personality development and the acquisition of expertise and techniques essential to the performance of management tasks. You will analyse problems of the type encountered in day-to-day business practice and develop practicable solutions for their presentation and application. The choice of a study option will enable you to gain a measured degree of specialisation without excessive bias in any particular field.
Overarching knowledge and skills
As well as teaching the relevant specialist knowledge, the degree programme places great importance on students acquiring the interdisciplinary expertise and skills which will help secure their business empowerment in the long term. These include measures to increase their method skills (making decisions and judgements, analysing problems, systems thinking, planning ability, prioritising) and social skills (communication and cooperation, discussion and presentation skills).
Degree programme focused on international requirements
The degree programme attaches particular significance to aspects of the internationalisation of business, and course content is increasingly responsive to the demands of international commerce.
Career opportunities
Graduates of this degree programme are able to assume managerial tasks in the running of business and administration. They also have the specialist knowledge and skills needed to start up their own enterprises or become self-employed.
