Degree programme content and objectives

This degree programme is specially designed to provide a second degree in business administration for graduates of non-business courses at universities of applied sciences. This accredited MBA course teaches subject-specific knowledge of business administration and management theory while providing students with the tried and tested tools and methods required to control operational and strategic processes across multiple disciplines with determination and competence.

Students are taught the skills needed to recognise, objectively analyse and professionally resolve business administration tasks and problems encountered within their particular sphere of activity. OTH Regensburg offers this practice-oriented post-graduate degree programme in partnership with the Regensburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Entry requirements

Entry to the MBA course requires applicants to have a non-business related first degree (Bachelor, Diplom or Magister) from a German university of applied sciences or a successfully completed comparable qualification awarded by an equivalent foreign institution, plus at least three years of employment not necessarily spent in a business administration context. This period of employment will normally come after the first degree and have been completed by the time the MBA course starts. Applicants must also demonstrate a basic knowledge of business processes, acquired through programmes of further training or at the workplace.

Degree programme structure and duration

The MBA is a part-time programme covering five semesters. Modules may also be taken individually by arrangement. Tuition is concentrated within the first four semesters, with lectures on Fridays (15:00 - 20:15), Saturdays (08:00 - 15:15) and in one full-time week per semester. No tuition normally takes place in the summer vacation. The fifth semester is used for writing the Master thesis.
