The European Commission is stepping up its efforts to promote gender equality. There are large gender gaps in research. With the start of Horizon Europe, the European Commission made gender equality plans a basic requirement for participation in its research framework programme. This policy instrument strives to sustainably transform organisational processes, cultures and structures within the field of research and innovation to combat and reduce gender imbalances and inequalities.

At OTH Regensburg, this function is fulfilled by the “Gleichstellungskonzept” which has been valid in its current version since 2018. This “Gleichstellungskonzept” functions as Gender Equality Plan.
